As usual i'm sure when you try to fit in a trip of this magnitude in two weeks everything is a bit rushed.
Today we drove from Madrid to Toledo where we toured the Toledo Steel factory and then wandered the old city with our local guide. I must admit that although I have not been a keen student of history it is somewhat inescapable.
Some incredible views of this city bounded on three sides by the Tarkus River and the city walls on the fourth side. Remnants of an ancient Roman Circus still exist and another remarkable Cathedral was viewable.
fter Toledo we moved onto Avila where again city walls showed a glimpse of remarkable history.
Then onto Salamanca where we are staying tonight. Had a great evening sampling some local wine in the city's central plaza.
Off to Porto (Portugal) tomorrow.
Hope all at home are well.
