6 October - Madrid & Segovia

Col: This morning we went back into Madrid for a visit to the outskirts of the Royal Place and the monument to Don Quixote and Sancho. Then it was off to the Prado for a couple of hours which was no where near long enough as I reckon you could spend a month in there and still not see everything.

Goya, Breughel, Rubens, Titian, Rembrandt the list just goes on and on.

The off to Segovia to see the old Roman aqueduct which was incredible. It still works and has not had to be refurbished. The stone masons have built it without mortar or anything to bind it together and it is still standing after 2000 years. Then we went to see a 12 the Century castle which was also beautifully preserved. Pics etc will be added asap.

Off to Toledo tomorrow.
