Col:
Well here we are in Barcelona and the tour has officially finished as of breakfast this morning.
But I get ahead of myself.
A couple of days ago we left Granada and had a long drive to Valencia. Saw some very interesting architecture before a tour of the city centre with a very old Arabic plaza and close alleyways.
After a dinner of Garlic Prawns, Garlic Chorizo and potatoes, and some Calamari followed by Paella (the best one on tour yet) and washed down with a couple of jugs of the local Sangria version (agua de Valencia - basically Orange Juice, Triple Sec and sparkling white wine.
From Valencia we were off to Barcelona where we again had a city tour topped off by a visit to the absolutey incredible unfinished Familiar of Gaudis - now after this trip I have seen a few Cathedrals but this is so unique that I put it right up there with Leon and Toledo and quite probably the best.
The photos do not do justice to the quality of light that infuses this structure.
Apparently Gaudi used recycled materials (not in the familiar ) but in the houses and the Guell Park that he designed.
Had a tour dinner last night to farewell everyone and then went off to see the fountain show but we arrived a bit late because of heavy traffic.
Bit of shopping and walking today.
Two more sleeps and then on the plane home.
See you all soon.
Eric: Barcelona! The final city on our tour of Spain.
But first I present to you: Rest stop kitty cats!!
